Shawl, Shawl, Cowl ... a new Collection

Well that didn’t take long for me to get back here again!

I am excited to share with you a mini collection of fun wraps that are perfect for any season! Two shawls and a cowl … each inspired from my summer holiday to Spain.

In June, I was lucky to travel with 17 other women (my mom and sister included in this bunch) as part of a yoga retreat to Spain. During our 10 days we saw, we learned, we moved, we laughed, and we relaxed a lot. But also reflected in ways that changed me. It was incredible.

The sites were gorgeous - every town we walked or drove through were magical. And the people so special and thoughtful.

These new designs were inspired by a few of the places along the way.

SEVILLE

Sunflowers. Seville. Spain.

Sunflowers were an unexpected surprise while driving through the countryside from San Rafael to Seville. Fields and fields of bright yellow bits of happiness.

Those sunflowers and the gorgeous textures seen throughout the region inspired this cowl. Knit in the round, this simple, lacey cowl is a perfect accessory to add to your summer and spring wardrobe. Click HERE for more details.

SAN RAFAEL

Traveling south from Madrid to just outside Seville to the San Rafael countryside, this crescent shape shawl was inspired by the rolling hills, olive groves and beautiful flowers at every turn.

San Rafael is knit in garter stitch, in a simple crescent shape with alternating stripes of fingering and mohair weight yarn for a nice light and airy accessory. The edging is a light ruffle worked in a third color for a fun little accent. Click HERE for more details.

PUERTO BANÚS

Puerto Banús, is a luxury marina & shopping district located in the area of Nueva Andalucía, to the southwest of Marbella, Spain. This beautiful coastal village was developed around the Mediterranean architectural style with white, clay rooftops, and blue from the water and sky.

This triangular shawl was inspired by this area. Knit in two colors with lots of texture including garter stitch, slip stitches, twisted stitches and ribbing. Click HERE for more details.

A few details on each design:

  • Seville … this cowl is knit in DK weight yarn and uses 221 yards.

  • San Rafael … this shawl is knit with fingering and mohari (lace) using both separately. You will need 400 yards of fingering; 459 yards of mohair, and I used a 3rd color of mohair for the ruffle…which uses 50 yards.

  • Puerto Banús … this shawl was knit with 2 colors. The blue is a fingering weight using 466 yards. The white is two lace weights held double - but you can use fingering too. You will need a total of 191 yards for the 2nd color. If you use lace yarns, you will need that yardage for both.

Each pattern is available individually or grab them all with the Collection option! Click HERE to grab yours. With your pattern purchase, you will receive 3 versions - Print, Mobile, and Low-Vision PDFs.

I look forward to seeing your projects soon! Be sure to tag @millysknitdesigns on Social Media so I don't miss your gorgeous knits!
